I know you want some tips on stopping smoking you can put to use right away, but before we do that it’s important to get clear about why people smoke. Only when you understand why people do it will you be able to understand why you truly have no need for cigarettes and smoking.

Why is it important to understand why people smoke? Telling a smoker that they should stop smoking because their teeth will turn yellow or they will develop lung cancer usually won’t do anything to help them stop smoking. Everybody is pretty much aware that cigarettes are bad for your health and cost money that could be used elsewhere.

Telling the smoker what they already know isn’t going to do anything, is it. It doesn’t work because that’s not the real reason why people start and continue to smoke.

So why do people smoke? I mean, cigarettes taste foul, they smell bad to everybody but smokers, and they cost quite a chunk of change out of the smoker’s pockets every year. So why on earth would anybody in their right minds even want to smoke?

The real reason people start smoking is because of peer pressure. People in social groups want to fit in and want their peers to approve of them, so they do what they think will get them that approval by lighting up a cigarette.
In fact, lighting up a cigarette in the past was deemed cool and daring, something movie stars and sophisticated people did. But with public knowledge about the harmful effects of smoking and new anti-smoking regulations on the rise, smoking is no longer as cool as it used to be. The truth is smoking is now seen as socially unacceptable in many places, and smokers are actually starting to feel ashamed about their habit rather than proud.

So if smoking is socially unacceptable, tastes bad, smells bad, and costs valuable money, why do people continue to smoke?

You see, smoking is only a choice when you’re first starting out. Tobacco isn’t something you can just choose to never have again if you don’t feel like it, like chocolate or potato chips. Tobacco is highly addictive, which is why that initial ‘just one cigarette’ will usually turn into a 10, 20, or 30 cigarettes (or more) a day smoking habit.

Still others fool themselves by thinking that cigarettes relax them and make them confident, and make them comfortable. After all, what’s the classic thing people do in bed after they’ve had their fun? Smoke a cigarette of course. But the truth is that cigarettes contain nothing but chemicals that damage the body. The only thing these toxic chemicals are doing for the body is poisoning it into a state of shock, not relaxing it!

While smokers do have their reasons for smoking, the reality is that there is no need for anybody to be dependent on such a toxic, harmful substance like tobacco that gives no benefit to anybody except the tobacco companies that sell it. That’s why the only sensible thing to do is to stop smoking today.

I have stopped smoking with the help of hypnosis. It really did work but its not a magic fix, you need to ant it to work and it will but you must keep saying I LIKE THIS AND WANT IT for the treatment to work and you must be open to the Hypnotherapists suggestions and let your subsconcious mind work for you…

I won’t lie and say I don’t get the odd pang to light up but I will NEVER AGAIN smoke, thats what I promised my subconcious mind and thats what I am going to stick with.
